VISA DOCUMENTS

If you want to apply for a Cyprus visa, you need to prepare some documents to support your application. The documents you need are listed below, but this is not an exhaustive list. Sometimes, the consulate may ask you for more information or documents, depending on your situation.

You must always bring and show the original documents when you apply, but you only have to submit photocopies of them; unless the requirements say that you have to submit an original document.

The Cyprus Visa Documents Required pages for a Visa Application:
  • Original visa application form
  • Passport: That is signed, contains at least two blank pages for visas, is valid for at least 90 days after the return date of the trip to Cyprus, and was issued no more than ten years ago on the day the of leaving Cyprus.
  • Extended passports will be valid, but if they are more than ten years old, they are no longer valid and the applicant must apply for a new passport.
  • Residence permit of UK: Original and photocopy of UK Residence permit, endorsed in the passport or issued as a Biometrics card, must be valid for at least one month beyond the return date of the trip to Cyprus; C type visitor visa (see here) is also accepted.
  • Passport Size Photo
Supporting
  • Passport or ID card of EEA/EU and Swiss nationals (original as well as photocopy).
  • Marriage certificate (original as well as copy), or if not in English, a certified translation of the same by a translator certified in the UK, is required as proof of relationship to an EEA/EU and Swiss national. A certificate issued outside of the UK has to be properly legalized.
  • Evidence of Joint Travel: Confirmed return flight tickets must include the names of the applicant’s family members who are citizens of the EEA/EU and Switzerland, as well as their travel dates to and from Cyprus. Only fully booked and confirmed flights that arrive at and depart from the airports of Larnaka or Paphos are acceptable. There is no acceptance of flights booked through Ercan airport.
  • When opting car for travel, you should have the following documents with you: your driver’s license, your car’s registration, and car insurance. If the applicant is not the driver, a cover letter from the driver (signed and dated) verifying joint travel with the applicant and the dates of the trip must also be sent.
  • Travel Insurance: The travel insurance for Cyprus visa UK must prominently display the client’s name, cover the complete time the customer intends to remain in Cyprus, and provide at least €30.000 in coverage for medical emergencies and repatriation.
Documents for EEA/EU and Swiss National Family Member

To apply for a Cyprus visa UK, you must book an online Cyprus visa appointment and show up in person on the scheduled date. This rule applies to everyone, including infants and children.

If you are related to an EEA/EU or Swiss citizen, you can apply for a Cyprus visa as their family member. This means you don’t have to pay the visa fee or submit as many documents as regular tourists. But you have to travel with your EEA/EU or Swiss relative.

Spouse

If you are not travelling with your EEA/EU or Swiss relative, you cannot apply as their family member. You have to apply as a tourist and provide all the Cyprus Visa documents UK and pay the visa fee.

Eligibility

Before you apply for a Cyprus visa, make sure you meet these requirements:

  • Having a passport/travel document that is still valid.
  • Having a UK residence permit that is still valid. If you have a short stay visa for the UK, a C type visa (see example here), you can also apply for a Cyprus visa.
  • Seeking a short stay Cyprus visa UK for any of these purposes: Travel (including Minors), Family/Friends Visit, Business, EEA/EU and Swiss national family member or Airport Transit.
